Terms of sale & refunds

The deal, in plain language.

What a DeskRipple license is, how refunds work, how long updates are promised, and how your key reaches you. The full license text is the EULA — this page is the readable summary of the purchase.

Nothing is on sale yet. DeskRipple is free during the public beta, and the current beta build stops working on September 1, 2026. These terms take effect when the one-time paid version goes on sale, planned for mid-August 2026. Beta testers get a founder discount — the mailing list is how you claim it.

What you're buying

A DeskRipple license is a one-time purchase. Pay once and it's done — no subscription, no recurring charge, nothing to cancel.

The license is perpetual and belongs to you, one person. Use it on the Windows PCs you personally use; a desktop and a laptop don't need separate licenses. It isn't tied to your hardware — reinstall Windows or move to a new PC and the same key keeps working.

You're buying a license to use the software, not the software itself. What that allows in practice is summarized below; the governing text is the EULA.

Who the seller is

DeskRipple is developed and published by Michael Kline, a sole proprietor in the United States.

Purchases are handled by a merchant of record — an authorized reseller that runs the checkout, charges your payment method, applies any VAT or sales tax for your country, and issues your receipt. The seller named at checkout and on the receipt is that reseller.

The price is shown at checkout before you pay, in your local currency where supported.

Your license key

After purchase, the license key arrives by email at the address used at checkout. Enter it in DeskRipple under Manager → About and the app is licensed from then on.

The key is verified by the app itself, offline. There is no account to create, no activation server, and no internet connection needed to stay licensed.

If the key hasn't arrived within a few minutes, check the spam folder — and make sure you're looking at the inbox for the address used at checkout. Still missing? Email support@deskripple.com with the order number from your receipt (or the checkout email address) and the key will be re-sent. The same address handles lost keys later on.

Refunds

Every purchase can be refunded within 14 days, no questions asked.

To request one, reply to your receipt email or write to support@deskripple.com with your order number. The refund is issued by the checkout provider back to your original payment method; depending on your payment method it can take a few business days to appear.

Updates

For at least two years from your purchase date, every license includes the updates DeskRipple needs to keep working on supported versions of Windows 10 and 11.

That window is a promise about updates, not a time limit on the app: DeskRipple has no expiry date, and nothing stops working when the window ends. Two years is the minimum, not a cutoff — updates may continue beyond it.

Updates install automatically in the background; the off switch is under Manager → About. In rare security cases, DeskRipple may require an update before it opens. That update is free, even after the two-year window ends, and never means buying the app again.

What the license allows

Normal use, personal or work, on your own PCs. It doesn't allow sharing or reselling license keys, posting them publicly, or redistributing the app itself. The full text is the EULA — it's short and written to be read.
